Kap Kig Iwan, Ontario

"A pandemic you say? Fine, I'll just drive to the northernmost provincial park where one can camp. I'm sure there'll be no one there to transmit this COVID virus that people speak of!" Well, there were people, albeit, barely. And I still complied with the local and provincial laws during said time.
That being said, Kap Kig Iwan, another hidden and far off gem to most people! But the members here in Nordern Wanderers are far from your off-the-shelf city dwellers. We like to explore and will take any chance to do so!
The road trip to Kap Kig Iwan gave me that chance! I hadn't travelled for a while prior to this trip due to the pandemic. Suffice it to say that this trip gave me the escape and freedom I needed to clear my mind after working from home for a while and to continue my passion for photography.
Especially during these unprecedented times! Kap Kig Iwan in itself isn't a very big park, however this underdog can kick some a** with it's awesome trails, in-house waterfall and rapids! See the gallery below! I also stopped by a few places on the way up such as at North Bay and the Temagami Fire Tower! My first social distanced road-trip and trip in general during a pandemic. Memorable indeed. Is the trip up to Kap Kig Iwan worth it, you ask? Welp, Let me ask YOU... why would it not be worth it if you've never been? If someone asks if you've ever been to a place and you say no, then you've lost an opportunity to connect with said person. So delay not! Go when you can!
