Peru

Ah Peru, South America, an exotic destination for a trip as some people would say! Indeed, exotic and beautiful. This place has unlocked for me, a brand new continent that of which I only ever dreamt of visiting.
Since growing up, I've only read about the beauty which Peru and South America offer and I can confirm now that the things I've read are far from lies!
This trip showed me a small part of what it was like to live in a Latin American country after conversing with locals beyond just asking for directions. Although security may be a concern for some, the people there were far from hostile. They were super nice and were excited to see new faces! It helped that my rusty Spanish tongue still works!
Also, the food there was damn good! However, the apex of my trip to Peru, Machu Picchu, left me breath taken (literally, as the hike up one of its mountains, Huayna Picchu, was pretty steep) and speechless. The gruesome climb to the summit offered me, as a hobbyist and learning photographer, views and compositions that I could never imagine taking. The weather held up fine when I went considering that it was the wet season too - in short, I was super lucky!
All in all, this experience helped in shaping what Nordern Wanderers is all about today. Which is, to not only document the places that David and I wish to travel to, but also to experience what other people in these places live through - both the good and the bad.
